Tamil calendars online are mostly scanned almanac pages — dense, cramped and hostile on a phone. People pinch, zoom and squint to find one line of information they check every single day.
We treated it as an information design problem, not a porting exercise. We mapped what people actually look up, how often, and in what order — then built the hierarchy around that instead of reproducing the printed page.
A restrained palette, generous spacing and a type scale tuned for Tamil script. Festival days carry weight without shouting. Motion is limited to orientation — where you are in the month, and where you just came from.
A calendar that feels culturally faithful and unmistakably modern — quick enough to open, glance at, and close.

Typography as infrastructure
Tamil script sets taller than Latin and breaks differently. Type scale, line height and touch targets were drawn around the script rather than inherited from a Latin-first system.
A day is the unit
The day view — not the month grid — is the product. Everything a person checks before leaving home reads in a single glance, without a tap.
Offline by default
A calendar is useless when it needs a network. Data is resolved on device so the app opens instantly and works anywhere.
